RODD FAMILY ANNOUNCES DECISION TO SELL RODD RESORTS AND HOTELS CHAIN

Christina Rodd, on behalf of her family, announces the Rodd family’s decision to sell the Rodd chain of resorts and hotels.

In making this difficult decision, the family recognizes that they will be separating from a long association with the Rodd management team and employees, some of whom have been involved in the operations for many years.

David Rodd, and his parents before him, had a tremendous commitment to the Maritime hospitality business and especially the PEI tourism industry. The Rodd Resorts in PEI are the cornerstone of Provincial tourism, and have been instrumental in helping develop this important industry over the years. The family will insist that potential owners are committed to operating the properties in a manner which is fair to existing employees, exercise respect for the communities involved and value the loyalty of the guest relations that have been nurtured through the years.

David Rodd built a significant group of hotels with a tradition of fine service. Christina Rodd says “We are confident we can find a new owner who will further develop the resorts and hotels and who will enhance the Rodd tradition”.
The family had retained Ernst & Young to act as advisors and facilitator of the sale process.

Rodd Hotels & Resorts is Atlantic Canada’s largest privately-owned hotel chain with 10 hotels and resorts throughout Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
